Respiratory care at Yampa Valley Medical Center encompasses diagnostic evaluation, therapy, and education of the patient and family.
Diagnostic activities include performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system. The department also performs sleep disorder studies in its Sleep Study Center at Yampa Valley Medical Center.
Therapy services include:
- Mechanical ventilator support
- Artificial airway care
- Bronchopulmonary hygiene
- Pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation program
- Hemodynamic cardiovascular support
- Asthma/COPD management
- Outpatient cardiopulmonary diagnostics
- Nicotine counseling
The focus of patient and family education activities is to promote knowledge of disease process, medical therapy and self-help.
