Dr. Henry Fabian is a board certified orthopaedic spine surgeon and technical medical consultant on leading edge spine implant devices.
Dr. Fabian holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, as well as an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMOB) degree.
Dr. Fabian completed his undergraduate work in Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, in 1985 and went on to Ohio State University for a graduate program in biomedical engineering. After the first year of the program, he focused his study to obtain his Doctor of Medicine degree. Then Dr. Fabian completed a general surgery internship, as well as a residency in orthopaedic surgery, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio.
He pursued advanced spinal surgery training through two fellowships. Dr. Fabian studied reconstructive spine surgery at the Colorado Spine Center / Rocky Mountain Spine Center in 1995. The next year, he completed an International Trauma Fellowship with the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation in Hannover, Germany. In 2004, Dr. Fabian was awarded his EMBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.
Medical Practice and Medical Device Expertise
Since 2004, Dr. Fabian has been a partner at Orthopaedics of Steamboat Springs, as well as Director at The Steamboat Springs Spine Center at YVMC. He serves as Technical / Medical Consultant for medical manufacturing and medical management companies, including Alphatec Spine, Propeer Resources, Physician Based Medical Management. Dr. Fabian also served as Technical / Medical Consultant for Biomet Spine / EBI, Interpore Cross International, Spinal Concepts, Anthem Alliance Health Insurance Company and Danniger Medical Technology. He previously was CEO and Board Chairman of Vertibration, Inc., that manufactured minimally invasive spinal implant devices. Dr. Fabian also served as Medical Director of the Ohio Spine Institute.
Dr. Fabian has been an avid golfer, road cyclist, tennis player, martial arts enthusiast, alpine skier, and varsity soccer and track and field athlete. Since 2005, he has served as Team Physician for the U.S. Ski Association’s Men’s Alpine Ski Team. He also served as Team Physician for The Cleveland Crunch National Pro Soccer League and The Cleveland Lumberjacks IHL Pro League.
On the weekends, you might find Dr. Fabian cycling down Steamboat Springs' roads, skiing wherever there's snow and a hill, or practicing martial arts. He serves on the board of Steamboat's Strings in the Mountains Music Festival. He lives with his wife Tawnya Anne, and his daughter Hunter Grace.
