Bryan Bomberg, M.D., is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
A native of Colorado, he graduated with honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1982. He served a surgical internship at the US Air Force Keesler Medical Center, Biloxi, Mississippi. He went on to complete a four-year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Fellowship with Harvard University
He was accepted for a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Harvard program of Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. There he served as an assistant team physician for the NFL New England Patriots and the NHL Boston Bruins.
From 1988 to 1993 he served in the Air Force as a staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. During that tour of duty, he was promoted to Chief of Sports Medicine and team physician for the NCAA football and hockey teams. In 1993, Dr. Bomberg resigned his commission as a Major in the U.S. Air Force and joined Steamboat Orthopaedic Associates in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Sports Team Experience
Dr. Bomberg cares for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skiers and is a traveling physician for the US Ski Team. He has been Chief Medical Officer for the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series. He also serves as Team Physician for the Steamboat Springs High School Football Team. Dr. Bomberg was Olympic Physician for the USSA, Jumping and Nordic Combined Teams at the 2002 Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 2007, Dr. Bomberg joined Orthopaedic Overseas, part of Health Volunteers Overseas, where he served in Peru. He also has traveled to Panama with Operation Walk, a nonprofit, volunteer medical service organization providing free surgical treatment and joint replacement for patients in developing countries.
In Steamboat Springs, he has been a competitive soccer coach and board member of Steamboat Youth Soccer. He is a patron of the Steamboat Arts Council and Strings in the Mountains. Dr. Bomberg enjoys biking, hiking, and skiing. He and his wife, Karen, have three children, Erin, Max and Conner.
