Cooks and prepares food for distribution to patients, the cafeteria, and catering services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared. Follows standardized recipes in preparation of all foods.
2. Plans cooking schedule with supervisor and/or exec chef to ensure food will be ready at specified times.
3. Confers with supervisor and/or exec chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
4. Adheres to all applicable guidelines regarding the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Experience: 1 year experience.
Licenses and Certifications: None required.
Skills and Abilities: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Variable days and shifts based upon need.
